Privacy
What PolitiDex does with information about you, in plain terms.
This describes how PolitiDex works today. It is pending legal review and is not yet a formal privacy policy.
Your address
When you look up your representatives, your address is sent once to the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder to find your district. PolitiDex does not store it, log it, or put it in the page address. Only the district, such as OR-6, is saved, in your own browser.
Following officials
Your list of followed officials is stored on PolitiDex's server, linked to a cookie on your device. It is not tied to your name or email.
Ratings, when verification opens
To rate, you will confirm your address and email. PolitiDex will store your star rating, your optional short note, your district, and a one-way hash of your email so it can tell one person's rating from another. Nothing else: not your address, not your name, not your email itself.
